In 2023, Latif et al. described a ‘chain of survival’ for traumatic haemorrhage to:
- Recognise catastrophic bleedings
- Apply rapid control (direct pressure, tourniquet, or haemostatic dressing)
- Ensure timely transfer to definitive care
