CIBSE Building Safety 2026: Delivering Safer Buildings in Practice – Register today!

CIBSE Building Safety 2026: Delivering Safer Buildings in Practice takes place on 17 September at The Building Centre, London.

The programme runs across four sessions:

  • Building Safety Reform: What the Next Phase Means in Practice — understand the current state of reform and what the next phase of implementation means for your organisation and responsibilities.
  • Building Trust in the System: Competence, Accountability and Assurance — gain clarity on how competence is defined, assessed and evidenced across the building lifecycle.
  • Building Safety in Practice: Performance, Operations and Lifecycle Risk — explore the relationship between building performance and safety in occupied buildings, and how operational risk is identified and managed over time. Led by CIBSE FM Group Vice Chair Joanna Harris.
  • Net-Zero Retrofit and Emerging Risk — understand the safety implications of net-zero retrofit strategies and how to manage risks introduced by new systems, technologies and changing building use.

CIBSE co-developed BS 8670, the core criteria for building safety competence frameworks, and its Building Safety Working Group is contributing to the government’s ongoing Single Construction Regulator consultation. As a registered charity and Professional Engineering Institution, CIBSE’s conference programme is run to support sector-wide competence and standards, not as a commercial training product.

FM Briefing readers can claim 25% off this conference, and any CIBSE conference taking place in September, using code CIBSESeptember at checkout.
